Reading is just one part of learning a language. The other parts are speaking and listening. So for your pleasure I made a quick video lesson of the first sentence BK gave me.

Hello!

Today is going okay, I tought the 6th grade and sometimes they can be a pain. But today's workthrough went without any headaches.

Anyways, here are today's sentences:

지금은 몇 시 입니까?

What time is it now?

지금은 =now

몇=what

시= time

지하철역은 어디 입니까?

Where is the subway station?

지하철=Subway

역= Station

어디= Where

I think we studied the second one when I was back in America, so it sounds familiar. Also I have seen the word subway station before, due to of course taking the subway.

*By the way I have been writing these sentences down in a little notepad, as a way to do quick studying.

Ok I admit it... I watch TV. I am a committed Lost fanatic and I also like some reality TV shows such as Top Chef and Survivor.

But when you live outside America having internet TV access to sites such as ABC.com will block you from watching their episodes.

But there are ways to get around this! You could find the show uploaded onto Youtube or go to other hosting sites.

Yet there is another way.

VPN

I know nothing of all this logistical talk but there are free hosts out there that will allow your internet connection to bypass these security settings.


Try Hotspot Shield, Always VPN and you can use sites such as www.hulu.com to watch some shows.

Or access the shows directly at the network websites. I have a Mac so I don't know how it will go for PC users. In any case I did this because I don't want to be lost when it comes to Lost season next month.

Daily Korean: Tuesday

Today's lesson is:

나는 학교 선생님 입니다.

I`m school teacher.

학교=school

선생님=teacher

조용히 하세요

Be quiet!

조용히= quiet

하세요= be

These ones are not so hard for me because I am familiar with some of the words. Just now during the lunch break I had the cleaning children help me pronounce it. hehe (These are the kids that come in and clean the class.)

Daily Korean

So I finally broke down and begged BK to do his duty and teach me Korean. He decided that he will give me two sentences everyday during the week, and on the weekend he will test me.

Already he has given me today's Korean:

날씨가 춥습니다.

Weather is cold.

저는 비빔밥을 좋아합니다.

I like Bibimbab.

So far I have the first sentence down more than the second. It is time to start using the memory muscle in my brain, which I think has become weak with too much leisure.

Anyways, I am a bit anxious that by Friday there will be 10 sentences. I can do it! hehe
